We are very lucky to live and work in La Marina near Elche on the Costa Blanca. We get to wake up most days and be greeted by guaranteed, beautiful sunshine, low winds (at this time of year), pond-like sea conditions and a few people taking an early morning stroll with their dogs. It’s the perfect place to relax, reflect and welcome the day in. On this morning we prepared our drone, planned our filming flight plan and began capturing some stunning aerial photographs and videos.

Preparation
Preparing an aerial shoot anywhere requires pre-planning to avoid losing opportunities during the filming to capture the scene as perfectly as possible. We use any one of 55 aerial shoot sequences to capture the scene aspect just right. For this shoot we wanted to capture the soft light, vast sandy beach and rural surrounding area to ‘light up’ as the sun rose out at sea.
Our film team arrived at the beach at 6:45am to begin setting up, still a little dark but enough light to allow us to begin setting out the equipment and installing the drone take-off and landing deck.
Scene 1 – 7:13am
Our planned first scene was to focus on the sea horizon to make sure we captured the stunning sunrise (scheduled for 7:23am) and give us the opportunity to pan around the calm pond-like waters of the Mediterranean. We weren’t disappointed, the sun began rising in all its glory.

Scene 2 – 7:20am
We wanted to capture the sun bed umbrellas to bring the beach to life and show how these simple but attractive straw shades give you protection from the summer sun as well as a sense of tranquility and relaxation as you imagine holidaying in this beautiful and quite Spanish seaside location.

Scene 3 – 7:25am
Our drone can fly for roughly 25 minutes on a single battery so we always ensure we plan out the flight path to maximise the footage potential before landing and changing batteries. We captured many beautiful scenes that day and believe it demonstrates just how pleasant nature can be when she opens up for life on a new day, every day.
